PUPILS can no longer be dropped off outside St Andrew’s Primary School at Orford, following a traffic banning order imposed by Warrington Borough Council.

As part of the Covid-19 pandemic and School Restart programme, St. Andrews CE Primary School requested assistance from the Council to assist children travelling to and from school safely whilst preventing access for through traffic and to prevent parents picking up and dropping off and parking in an unsafe and often inconsiderate manner.

Now the Council has made an Order under Sections 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers with the effect to prohibit motor vehicles on the roads specified in the Schedule during the permitted hours detailed in the said Schedule, except for permit holders displaying a valid Access Permit.

The Order will be effective from 30th May 2022. Deposited documents may be viewed on-line at https://www.warrington.gov.uk/permanent-traffic-regulation-orders or Town Hall Reception, Town Hall, Sankey Street, Warrington, WA1 1UH between 9am & 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks from 25th May 2022, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
