WARRINGTON girl Angela Bahn could be said to have her head in the clouds but her feet on the ground.
For when she’s not working as an air hostess, she’s a Special Constable, based at Great Sankey Police Station.
Angela, from Culcheth, devoted 30 hours to the police, pounding the streets of Warrington in the name of safety.
When not in police uniform, she can be found at Manchester Airport, taking to the skies in another uniform as a cabin crew member.
After studying law at A-Level, Angela was always keen to join the police force but her passion for travel proved too alluring and she joined low-cost airline bmibaby six years ago.
But she never gave up on her desire to become a policewoman, and now combines her two careers, both based on flexible shift work.
As a Special Constable, Angela is a fully trained volunteer and has already arrested and charged criminals along with executing warrants, attending community action meetings and managing road traffic accidents.
She said: “I joined bmibaby many years ago and love every minute of my time with the airline. Each week I jet off to fantastic European destinations and I get such a sense of satisfaction seeing the excitement in the faces of passengers as they touch down and start their holiday.
“I did however, long to join the police force and utilise all I had learned at college. After studying for the role of Special Constable I was overwhelmed at my passing out ceremony – it now meant I could do the two jobs I love most.”
