A WARRINGTON man has become regional winner of a competition for use of technology in the community, and was invited to a special reception at the House of Lords.
Ian Franzen was named the North West winner of the TalkTalk Digital Heroes award for using digital technology to benefit the local community.
He joined 11 other regional winners who were honoured at the reception.
Ian works at Lowton Community Centre providing activities and education in art, music, health, drama and sport for young and vulnerable people. The project is such a success he has been asked by the police to extend the provision.
He says he will use his winning grant to provide modern IT and presentation equipment, computers and the Internet in order to attract more users.
