FIRE crews at Warrington were called out to deal with an unusual incident – a dog trapped in a cage.
The rescue was carried out at a house in Lovely Lane – and it took two fire engines.
A firefighter who attended the incident explained: “The dog was trapped in a cage and we needed a special type of cutting gear to release it. The first fire engine to arrive on the scene was not equipped with this type of gear so we had to send for another.”
The dog was eventually released unharmed.

and did the dog owner get a bill for this ridiculous waste of time?
Why is it ridiculous and a waste of time ? Unless they had special cutters themselves how on earth would they be expected to get the dog out ? Have a heart Baz !
Whether or not it is a waste of time, this would be a special service call so I believe the owner would get a bill
Then if that is the case, that is good. Thank you for enlightening me without the hysterics and emotion of the previous poster!
