TWO Warrington youngsters travelled to Westminster as the guest of Prime Minister’s wife Samantha Cameron.
Sasha and Nathan Walker aged seven and six, from Woolston to attend the Westminster Kids Party, which took place in the MP’s dining room just a few yards away from the House of Commons chamber.
The party is an annual event and has become a vehicle of introducing young people to the world of politics, giving them an opportunity to see behind the scenes of government.
Speaking to the children were the Speaker, John Bercow, Keith Vaz MP and Mrs Cameron.
Sasha and Nathan received a Christmas card signed by the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister.
Software designer Richard Garriott who recently stayed at the International Space Station and is son of the famous NASA astronaut Owen Garriott was also on hand.
Nathan was particularly interested when talking to Mr Garriott and asked lots of questions about space.
Dad, Dominic Walker said: “I was delighted at how engaged Sasha and Nathan were in Parliament. We talked about everything from Guy Fawkes to the route to becoming a member of the House of Lords!”
Sasha declared that she would like to be Prime Minister!
