POLICE are seeking witnesses after a deliberate fire in the open at Sankey Valley Park, Warrington, earlier today, Wednesday.
Shortly before 10;30 am one fire crew was called out to reports of a fire in Sankey Valley Park off Bewsey Farm Close.
Firefighters put out a small fire in the open using a water backpack. The fire is believed to have been started deliberately and anyone with any information is urged to call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111 or police via 101.
Deliberate fires affect our ability to respond to serious incidents, and cause long-term damage to our communities.
Warrington Fire have attended an increasing number of deliberate fires over the Easter Weekend.
