FIREFIGHTERS were called out to tackle a fuel leakage from a HGV on Winwick Road, Warrington, yesterday, Saturday.

Shortly before 9 am one fire engine from Warrington was called to a heavy good vehicle leaking fuel on Wiwnick Road near the junction with Longford Street.

They used a special paste to try and seal the leak and set up dams to help prevent fuel from entering nearby drains.

It is believed that some fuel may have entered the drainage system, prior to the arrival of the crew, so the Environment Agency was informed. The incident was left with the Highways Agency.
