THE New Routes horticulture training project and community garden, in Victoria Park, Warrington, is celebrating after opening a new cabin to provide a new learning centre.
Deputy Mayor Ted Finnegan officially opened the building which provides a warm, comfortable environment for people working towards qualifications in horticulture.
It is also available for small groups from the wider community and provides an information sources on wildlife and the local environment.
Volunteer Jonathon Pritchard also took part in the ceremony.
A gospel choir from Penketh High School provided entertainment.
The £15,000 funding for the project came from The Big Lottery, Stronger Together, the Lions Clubs of Lymm, Birchwood and Warrington, the Knights of St Columbo and B&Q.
Marje Caine, from charity group MacIntyre, said the project had been made possible by volunteers bringing their professional skills, learners, staff and partners using the site working together.
