FIREFIGHTERS wearing breathing apparatus tackled a bedroom fire at a terraced property in Orford, Warrington last night.

An electrical fault is believed to have started the fire in the back bedroom of the property on Keswick Crescent.

Shortly after 8 pm fires crews from Warrington and Lymm were called to the house fire. Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to tackle the fire, along with a covering jet.

All persons in the property were accounted for. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus checked the roof spaces of adjoining premises with thermal imaging cameras as there was a considerable amount of smoke within the loft areas as a result of the fire. A large fan was used to help clear the smoke from the incident.

Crews then dampened down and left the property secured with the owner.

An investigation into the cause of the fire was carried out and it is thought that the fire started accidentally due to an electrical fault.
