COVID-19 infection rates continue to fall although hospital inpatient numbers rise to 105

WHILE COVID-19 infection rates are continuing to fall in Warrington, hospital inpatient numbers have risen again to 105 with a further 157 new cases reported in the town – with testing now down nationally by more than 20 percent.

After two days of falls, inpatient numbers at Warrington Hospital have risen from 95-105 while nine more patients have been discharged in the past 24 hours.

But the hospital is continuing to appeal for people to only attend the accident and emergency department in an emergency. As of 5:37 pm today in Warrington Hospital Emergency Department the longest wait to see a doctor/nurse was over 4 hours, with 38 people waiting and 97 on the department.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 616 – 294.2 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 252.5.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 659 – 314.7 per 100,000.

There have been 1,242 (1,361) new COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days, including 157 (171) since yesterday, taking the total to 75,121 (74,964) and an infection rate of 790.4 (841.9) per 100,000 which has fallen again, while the national rate also continues to fall to 675 (710.5).
Testing has also fallen by -995,143 (-20.8%) over the past seven days.
