No further deaths as hospital inpatient numbers and COVID-19 infection rates fall

NO further COVID-19 related deaths have been reported at Warrington Hospital since yesterday with infection rates and inpatient numbers continuing to fall.

Inpatient numbers at Warrington Hospital have fallen from 107-100 since yesterday, while 13 more patients have been discharged in the past 24 hours.

But the hospital is continuing to appeal for people to only attend the accident and emergency department in an emergency. As of 4:45 pm today in Warrington Hospital Emergency Department the longest wait to see a doctor/nurse was over 4 hours, with 70 people waiting and 129 on the department.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 595 – 284.1 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 247.1.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 658 – 314.2 per 100,000.

There have been 1,494 (1,636) new COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days, including 169 since yesterday, taking the total to 74,793 (74,624) and an infection rate of 867.3 (894) per 100,000 which has fallen again, while the national rate also continues to fall to 747.8 (789.3).
Testing has also fallen by -803,983 (-16.2%) over the past seven days.
