A WARRINGTON MP has been appointed to the board of a body which advises Parliament on science and technology issues.
David Mowat, MP for Warrington South, joins the board of the Parliamentary Office for Science and Technology (POST), a non-party advisory body.
POST provides advice and guidance to MPs and peers on science and technology policy. It also provides analysis to members to enable them to scrutinise Government policy more effectively.
Mr Mowat said: “As one of the few members of Parliament with a scientific or engineering background, I am always keen to see that discussions on public policy are underpinned by a solid understanding of the scientific evidence.
“Subject to the will of the House, I hope that my previous experience will help improve the quality of debate on scientific and technological matters.”
