TWO rugby youngsters completed an amazing achievement of running 12k a day for 12 consecutive days raising around £3,200 for their club and two charities.

In recognition of their outstanding achievement, Woolston Rovers Under 12s duo Warren Robinson and Finlay James were presented with a “Chairman’s Award” from their proud club Chairman Steve Moore, after the recent NCL game against Beverley.

Under 12s Head Coach Matt Robinson, father of Warren, was understandably immensely proud of the pair’s achievement.

He said, “I am massively proud of the pair of them; they both stayed focused and committed throughout, even in the severe weather, and kept each other motivated. They are sending out a really positive message to both their teammates and others their age; to challenge themselves the way they did physically and mentally at 12 years of age takes some doing.

“They are also giving something back by raising awareness and funds for their chosen charities. In total the boys raised around £3,200 which will help both charities, Cancer Research UK and St Joseph’s Family Centre, as well as their teammates.

“Everybody at Woolston Rovers is extremely proud of these two fine young men.”
