Discarded cigarette believed to have caused bush fire next to building

A discarded cigarette is believed to have started a bush fire next to a building on Thelwall New Road, Warrington, earlier today.

Shortly after 3pm one fire engine from Lymm was called out to reports of a bush on fire next to a building on Thelwall New Road.

Firefighters attended to a fire in bushes next to a building which is believed to have started due to smoking materials.

Meanwhile in another incident last night shortly before 18:45 one crew from Warrington was called out to a household rubbish fire on Densham Avenue, Warrington.

A small quantity of household rubbish was involved in a fire in an alleyway and needed firefighters to extinguish it with a hose reel.
