Hospital COVID-19 inpatient numbers and infection rates continue to rise although decline in new cases

INPATIENT numbers are continuing to rise at Warrington Hospital, while new COVID-19 rates of infection have risen again, with 230 new cases confirmed.

Inpatient numbers at Warrington Hospital have risen again from 81-85 in the past 24 hours while eight more patients have been discharged since yesterday.

A total of 230 new COVID-19 cases have also been reported in the town since yesterday, showing the first signs of reduced numbers – although this could be due to reduced testing.

Current inpatients as of Friday, March 25, 2022 (confirmed positive result – 14 days or less from first positive sample) – 85 (81) including 0 (0) in ICU.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 586 – 279.9 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 245.2.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 655 – 312.8 per 100,000.

There have been 1,887 (1,936) new COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days, including another 230 (331) new cases since yesterday, taking the total to 72,264 (72,034) and an infection rate of 884 (874.9) per 100,000 which has risen again, with the national rate at 877.8 (870.4), which has also risen again.
