Ramsbottom United v Warrington Rylands – Big game preview

WARRINGTON Rylands travel to Ramsbottom United on Saturday looking to extend their winning run to seven games and maintain their lead at the top of the NPL West table, kick off 3pm.

The “Blues”, who will be wearing red, travel knowing a victory over their hosts will put them out of reach of 6th place Bootle ensuring them of at the least a playoff spot in their first ever season in the league.
Currently occupying 16th place in the NPL West table, Ramsbottom United have been on a downward trajectory since losing 8-0 to Rylands in November. Arriving at Gorsey Lane in 9th place Ramsbottom, reduced to ten men before the break, had no answer to a rampant Rylands who recorded their highest score of the season. Joe Bunney led the way with a hat-trick, Declan Walker and Kane Drummond both bagged a brace while Adam Buxton completed the scoring.
Since playing at Gorsey Lane, Ramsbottom have played 15 games, winning 4, drawing 1 and losing 10 including their last two against Colne (away) and Workington (home), both 1-0.
