Coffee morning boost for library renovation fund

A CAKE and coffee morning raised more than £950 for the Culcheth Village Library Renovation fund.

More than 100 people attended the event at Culcheth Village Club and organised by Sue Chinn, owner and fitness “guru” of Culcheth Village Fitness Club.

Janet Evans, co-vice chair of the Friends of Culcheth Library, said: “It was while sharing information about fundraising for the library renovation that Sue offered to do a coffee and cake morning with her fitness club members. “She galvanised the people in her classes to attend and must be thanked unreservedly for her help and support.

“We were overwhelmed with the amount of support we received – the number of cakes we received, the generosity of people buying cakes and raffle tickets, the donation of prizes and everyone who volunteered to make tea, serve and sell and then clear up – it was just amazing for a village coffee morning lasting just two hours.

“I think we should be under no illusion as to the strength of positive feeling for our library renovation project. I personally am very proud.

“An overall thank you to everyone – and also to Wayne and Warren Bibby at the Village Club who gave us the use of the room, the facilities and the equipment.”
