LYMM-based nursery group Kids Planet Day Nurseries is a finalist for the People’s Choice category of this year’s North West Family Business Awards.
The Lymm-based group beat strong competition with a record number of 186 businesses entering the awards from across the region.
This award allows each region to choose their favourite family business through an online nomination and public vote and there will be one winner per region.
The award champions family businesses across the North West, recognising their achievements and celebrating their successes in style.
This event will be held at The Rum Warehouse, Titanic Hotel, Liverpool with host, food writer,and presenter Nigel Barden and will take place on Friday May 13.
Clare Roberts, chief executive at Kids Planet, said: “I’m delighted that Kids Planet is a finalist for the Cheshire People’s Choice award in the North West Family Business Awards, as being a family-run business is something we pride ourselves on.
“Since forming Kids Planet in 2008 with the help of my father, and working closely alongside my sister, we have been on a rapid growth journey. In 2022, we became a group of over 100 nurseries, and this is a fantastic milestone, yet we remain a family business at our core, and the children in our care remain at the heart of everything we do.”
Co-founder and director Sue Howorth said: “We were inundated with some incredible entries and we have been burning the midnight oil to get through them as they came in right up to the wire.
The judges had extremely difficult decisions to make so the finalists should be extremely proud of themselves!”
Jacqui Jackson from Thomas Jardine and Co and 2022 North West Awards chair of judges said: “The number and quality of applications from across the North West has been outstanding, the businesses are clearly proud to be family businesses and the detail in many of the entries has emonstrated that they are very progressive and innovative.”
The finalists will now receive a visit from our specially selected panel of expert judges before the judges make their final decisions.
