Highway planners create parking bay to support local business

HIGHWAY planners at Warrington Borough Council have created a new parking bay on the fringe of the town centre to help support a local business.

The proposed 20-minute limited waiting bay on White Street, close to the junction of Parker Street is to provide assistance for customers to use the local Fresh Sandwich Company and any other nearby businesses.

The council say there are currently very limited opportunities within the Bank Quay Station area to collect goods as the surrounding streets are restricted within the Bank Quay Residents Parking Scheme.

As a result, they have introduced WAITING LIMITED TO 20 MINUTES, MONDAY TO SATURDAY 8:00AM TO 6:30PM, NO RETURN WITHIN 1 HOUR for White Street, Bewsey & Whitecross (South Side) From a point 6.5 metres east of its junction with Parker Street for a distance of 5 metres in an easterly direction.

(l) By the amendment of Articles 8 & 53(a) being the addition of Schedule 63b to the said Article.

In accordance with Regulation 19 of the Local Authorities Traffic Regulation Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 the Council has deferred part of the order proposed in the Notice dated 5th August 2021 and is making the Order in part as detailed in this Notice.

The Order will be effective from 24th February 2022 and may be cited as “The Borough of Warrington (Traffic Management) (Civil Enforcement) Consolidation (Amendment No. 38) (Part 1) Order 2022”.

Deposited documents may be viewed on-line at https://www.warrington.gov.uk/permanent-traffic-regulation-orders or Town Hall Reception, Town Hall, Sankey Street, Warrington, WA1 1UH between 9am & 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks from 23rd February 2022, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
