Firefighters help tackle light fitting fire

FIREFIGHTERS from Warrington were called out earlier this morning (Saturday) to help put out a fire involving an overheated light fitting at a property in Orford.

Shortly after 7;45 am one crew from Warrington attended at the domestic property on Bruce Avenue.

Firefighters were called to a property where the occupier was trying to extinguish a small fire, believed to be caused by an overheated light fitting, using a dry powder extinguisher.

They used a hose reel to damp down completely and a thermal imaging camera to check the fire had not spread further.

There was no report of any injuries.
