FIREFIGHTERS were called out following reports of a tree on fire overhanging a stretch of railway line in Bewsey, Warrington.
Shortly after 4;15 pm one fire engine from Warrington was called to the incident on Charter Avenue, Bewsey and Whitecross, Warrington
A tree was hanging over the railway line and on fire requiring firefighters to stand by and monitor it.
A representative from the railway is also in attendance and the power was isolated so the crew could then extinguish the fire, which involved a conifer and also some surrounding trees.
Meanwhile there were various disruptions on the rail network caused by Storm Eustice, with Northern rail advising passengers not to travel.
