Popular Parkrun cancelled due to Storm Eunice

WARRINGTON’S popular Parkrun has been cancelled tomorrow, Saturday, due to Storm Eunace.

Orgainsers have been in constant communication with Warrington Borough Council today about the possible flooding of the park and the high winds.

Although the park has not flooded (though Lake Victoria is back), due to the high winds and possible tree damage, the council has asked organisers not to go ahead with the event tomorrow.

During an inspection of the course earlier today at least three large branches snapped and fell to the ground.

The weekly event regularly attracts between 300-500 runners.
