THE closing date for next year’s secondary school places is approaching and parents in Warrington are being advised to get their applications in.
Parents of year six pupils need to apply by this Friday (October 29).
Applications received after this date will not be considered until after the allocation date, March 1 next year – after all others have been processed.
Kath O’Dwyer, the borough council’s executive director for children and young people’s services, said: “We have an excellent record of meeting parents’ preferences for schools.
“This year 94 per cent of parents were offered their first preference and more than 99 per cent were offered a place for their child at one of their preferred schools. This high success rate can only be achieved if parents submit their applications on time.”
Applications for primary school places for September 2011 must be made by January 14.
Further advice can be obtained from the school admissions team on 01925 442951 or 442952 or from the Choice Advice Service on 01925 442978. Applications for both primary and secondary places can be made online at www.warrington.gov.uk/admissions
