Six weeks of road works set to start for carriageway resurfacing

SIX weeks of road works are set to start at Burtonwood, Warrington, next week to allow carriageway resurfacing works.

Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be as follows: –

Temporary Prohibition of Driving & Clearway: Burtonwood Road from the roundabout at M62 Junction 8 to Tan House Lane; Lockheed Road from Burtonwood Road for 50 metres.

Temporary Suspension of The Borough of Warrington (Various Roads in Burtonwood & Winwick) (7.5 Tonne Weight Limit) Consolidation Order 2018 in so far as it relates to Schedule 2 – 7.5T Weight Limit as follows: Entire lengths of road: Clay Lane; Chapel Lane; Fir Tree Lane; Alder Lane; Hollins Lane.

The Order will be effective from 21st February 2022 for up to 6 weeks between 10pm and 5am, when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.

The alternative route will be via Burtonwood Road, Charon Way, Europa Boulevard, Westbrook Crescent, Cromwell Avenue, A49 Winwick Road, A49 Newton Road, Hollins Lane, Alder Lane, Fir Tree Lane, Clay Lane and vice versa.

The road works and restrictions are required for carriageway resurfacing.
