LiveWire launches new mindfulness classes

LIVEWIRE is launching a new mindfulness class as part of its group activity programme in response to the demands and pace of modern life, and the mental health challenges caused by the ongoing pandemic.

The new class, called ‘Relax & Reconnect’ gives the chance to take time out to focus on yourself with weekly sessions based around the practice of mindfulness, and breath/body connection.

The sessions, led by experienced yoga and mindfulness instructor Jessica Stewart, will combine practical information about mindful living with breathing techniques and small amounts of gentle movement.

The class will hopefully give participants the tools and resources to help them thrive in their everyday life and are particularly aimed at anyone who may be feeling overwhelmed, stressed or anxious.

The classes are running two times a week at Orford and Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hubs, and are suitable for over-16s and whether you’ve tried mindfulness before or are new to meditation. They are included in LiveWire’s all-inclusive memberships or on a Pay As You Go basis.

Kev Forester, Commercial Director at LiveWire, said: “As a Community Interest Company, we want to offer as diverse a programme as possible to ensure that there truly is something for everyone.

“The detrimental impact on people’s mental health due to the pandemic has been widely documented, so we felt that our customers would greatly benefit from our new ‘Relax & Reconnect’ sessions to offer a more holistic approach to their wellbeing.

“We have had a really positive initial response from our members so far and we hope that this will be a welcome addition to our offering.”
