POLICE at Lymm are warning residents to be on their guard against doorstep sellers claiming to be from a prison rehabilitation scheme, following reports of people being charged £15 for a tea towel.
In another incident, a person who thought they were being charged £19.99 for items had £199 taken by card payment.
Police say they have been receiving more reports of males knocking on doors in South Warrington, claiming to be from the prison rehabilitation scheme selling household products to residents
They are warning it isn’t a genuine scheme and that there is no such thing as the prison rehabilitation scheme.
They are urging people to pass this information on to friends, family and any other vulnerable residents.
