VISITORS Mossley will have left Gorsey Lane wondering how they lost this game, dominating for large parts they allowed Warrington Rylands to come from a goal behind to snatch all three points with a 90th-minute wonder goal from substitute David Webb.

The first half was almost entirely played within the vicinity of the Rylands penalty area as Mossley exerted constant pressure on the home side’s goal without hitting the target, Mason Fawns and Devon Matthews screwing shots narrowly wide.

They did have the ball in Rylands net in the 20th minute, bundling home from a corner but the referee had spotted an infringement in a packed box.

Rylands started the second half brighter and Sam Egerton went close with a header from a corner in the 50th minute.

Egerton got his name on the score sheet four minutes later, unfortunately he inadvertently bulleted a header past his own goalkeeper to put the visitors in front while trying to clear a Fawns cross.

On the hour mark Kane Drummond sprung Mossley’s offside trap to race clear but he sliced his shot wide of the post.

In the 65th minute Andy Scarisbrick hooked the ball infield from out on the right flank into the path of Callum Dolan; unmarked and unchallenged he steadied himself and drove the ball past a helpless Mossley goalkeeper from 25 yards.

Mossley hit back with Jordan Butterworth drawing a great save from Graeme McCall who a shot from distance, while Fawns curled a shot from the edge of the area over the frame of Rylands goal.

A desperate Mossley defender was forced to clear off the line as Rick Smith got on the end of a dangerous free kick,

With the game entering stoppage time and a draw looking the most likely result, the ball dropped to Webb, signed only the previous evening from Nantwich Town, the debutant struck the ball on the half volley and watched it fly in to the top corner of the Mossley net, as Rylands for the second week running snatched an injury time winner to keep themselves in the promotion race.
