PEOPLE in Warrington can now access a range of borough council services from the comfort of their living room.
Looking Local is an interactive digital TV service, providing information on jobs and council services, together with news and advice.
It is available 24 hours a day and can be accessed via the interactive button on Sky and Virgin. It is also available on certain Freeview set-ups, Wii and web-enabled mobile phones.
The borough council went live with Looking Local as part of events and activities for National Customer Service Week. The aim is to attract those who do not have internet access at home, but may have access to the television channels.
Anyone interested in finding out more can visit Warrington Market tomorrow (Thursday) and Friday where demonstrations will take place from 11am to 2.30pm in the food hall.
From next week there will also be information on the council website and there will be calling cards with details of how to access the service at Contact Warrington and council receptions.

Good idea for those who don’t have internet access although I’ve never used my interactive button on my Virgin TV as I thought we got charged for it… oops… so where is it ? Just out of interest …… how much has it cost the countil to have this service on interactive TV or is it a free service available to them ?
