Street fight puts two in hospital

A VIOLENT struggle between two men in Warrington town centre in the early hours of the morning left both with serious injuries – and both under arrest.
Detectives are seeking witnesses of the fight which took place outside the Hop Pole public house in Horsemarket Street.
Both men were taken to Warrington Hospital, one with a fractured skull and the other with a serious bite injury to his nose.
Police said it was believed the fight followed a verbal dispute in the Porters Ale pub in the early hours of Friday morning.
Officers were called to Horsemarket Street shortly after 1.30am.
It appeared the pair had left the Porters Ale still arguing and that things turned violent as they approached the Hope Pole.
Both men had been arrested on suspicion of assault.
A spokesman said: “If you saw the fight and can assist, please contact DS Sarah Hall at Warrington CID on 0845 458 0000.”
Alternatively, callers can use the confidential Crimestoppers line, 0800 555 111
