SECURE cycle storage will be provided for youth workers in the Orford area of Warrington if plans going before councillors tomorrow (Thursday) are approved.
Members of the borough council’s development management committee will be asked to agree to the siting of a storage container on the car park at The Hub – formerly known as Orford Youth Base – in Capesthorne Road.
The pedal cycles are used by youth workers while on outreach work in the Orford area and by young people attending The Hub. Planning officers are recommending the scheme be approved.
They say there is ample room for the container on the car park, where it will be located towards the rear of the site. It will have no significant visual impact on the nearest houses to the site.
Local councillors and more than 40 nearby residents have been consulted and there have been no objections. However, because containers can deteriorate over a period of time and can become unsightly, officers are recommending the consent be limited to five years
