COVID-19 infection rates continue upward trend with 135 new cases

WHILE no new COVID-19 related deaths have been reported at Warrington Hospital infection rates have continued an upward trend with 135 new cases confirmed in the latest daily data.

The 135 (171) new cases reported by Public Health England, take the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 37,789 (37,654).

After two days of fall, infection rates in Warrington have risen marginally to 833 (827) – 397.8 (394.9) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period but remain below the national average of 437.1 (433.8) per 100,000, which have increased again.

While one more hospital death has been confirmed inpatient numbers have remained at 16, with three in ICU and four more patients being discharged.
