TOP sports people from Warrington can be nominated for a prestigious award which will be presented at a glittering ceremony on November 13.
The eighth Cheshire and Warrington Sports Partnership Annual Awards ceremony will take place at Mere Golf and Country Club.
Local people are being urged either to nominate themselves or someone else for one of the awards which celebrate the dedication of local sporting talent.
There are 10 categories, including for the first time an Innovation Award and a Healthy and Active Workplace Award (for organisations that promote healthy and active living for their staff).
Other award categories are – Sports Personality Award, 2012 Award (for promoting the London Olympics), Club of the Year, Coach of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Young Volunteer of the Year, Disabled Sports Achiever (Jim Cochrane award) and Special Recognition Award.
Headline sponsors Warrington Wolves and Cheshire Jets will be out in force at the ceremony.
The partnership is keen to recruit sponsors for the remaining award categories in return for a package of benefits which includes having their chosen category named after their company, the opportunity to be involved in the judging panel and a table for 10 guests at the awards evening.
Partnership chief executive Jackie Bryson said: “We always look forward to our annual awards evening because it gives us such a wonderful opportunity to recognise and celebrate those who contribute so much to sport which has the power to enrich the lives not only of individuals but also of communities.”
Award nominations can be made online at www.cwsportspartnership.org or by phoning the partnership office on 01606 871812. The closing date for nominations in the two new categories is October 8.
Tickets cost £40, including a three-course dinner, and can be obtained by ringing the partnership office.
