THREE fire crews were called out earlier today (Tuesday) to tackle a fire in the roof of a domestic property at Callands, Warrington.

Three fire engines from Stockton Heath, Lymm and Penketh were called following reports of a house fire in Penmark Close.

On arrival, the crews found that the fire involved the roof space of two properties.

Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel jet to extinguish the flames.

The gas and electric supply to the property was isolated. A large fan was then used to ventilate the area.

The crews gained access to the attic by removing roof tiles and worked to identify hot spots. Firefighters then moved affected roof tiles.

There were no reports of any injuries.
