Tickled pink!

A WARRINGTON supermarket is inviting customers to donate money to release a special pink balloon in support of a loved one as it joins 12 other stores across Cheshire and North Wales in turning the sky pink – all to raise money for the Tickled Pink Breast Cancer Charity.
Balloons are available at Asda Warrington and nd will be released simultaneously by each store at 12 noon next Saturday, September 25.
It will be the first time a whole region has joined up to such an extent for Tickled Pink and was organised by Asda’s local store managers in the region.
Ruth Houghton, store manager at Asda in Warrington said: “All the store managers in the region got together to organise this as we wanted to create an event that would reflect the region’s bravery, energy and creativity. Our customers have signed up for balloons in their hundreds at each store already and we are set to raise thousands. I want to invite customers in Warrington to come and join us and to wear pink if they can – we want to send a message to all our colleagues and customers who have battled or who have family currently battling breast cancer that we’re with them every step of the way.”
The Tickled Pink campaign benefits two breast cancer charities – Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Campaign and since it started, its work has raised over £21 million.

  1. great work -the more money raised to help others to fight this cancer the better. Reasearch into preventing it costs lots of money so the more people that get involved the better and hopefully one day soon this particular cancer will be a thing of the past! Join in my charity walk on sunday 31st sept and raise even more -for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. [email protected] for more infro

  2. I hope Asda raises a lot of money for the Tickled Pink charity and I will be buying a balloon and donating. Hope everyone else who reads this will too !! Cancer affects so many people either directly or indirectly wether young or old, fit and ‘healthy’ or not, and it knows no bounds and can strike with a sudden and unexpected ferocity. Any money that can help towards working to find a possible cure for breast and all other forms of cancer is money well spent…… SO HAVE ONE LESS BEER TONIGHT AND DONATE THE MONEY INSTEAD 🙁 Every little helps !!!!!! For those of us who have already lost loved ones to this horrible disease it wont bring them back… but hopefully it may stop others from going through the same thing !!! 🙂 Good luck to Roy with the charity walk that is mentioned in the above comment…………. How far is the walk ?…. I’ll email you 🙂
