TWO men who left a train at Warrington Bank Quay station after stealing other passengers’ luggage are being sought by British Transport Police (BTP).
Officers are asking for the public’s help to identify the men they would like to speak to in connection with the theft of luggage belong to two passengers on a train from Edinburgh to Birmingham New Street.
PC Ray Skelly said the thieves took items belonging to two victims who were travelling on the 6.52pm Edinburgh to Birmingham service on Sunday July 18.
“Both victims had boarded the service at Edinburgh, one placed her holdall in the luggage compartment, the other placed her backpack into storage directly next to her,” he said.
“A large group of people boarded the service at Preston, causing disruption to passengers. One of the victims moved seats to a different carriage to avoid the loud and rowdy behaviour. She returned when the group departed the service at Warrington Bank Quay, to discover her backpack had been taken. The other passenger also noticed her holdall had been taken at the same time.”
Two men were seen leaving the service at Warrington Bank Quay with the luggage bags. Officers have released CCTV images in the hope someone can identify the men.
Anyone who recognises the men or has information about the incident is asked to contact BTP on 0800 40 50 40, quoting incident number B3 NWA of 07/09/2010, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

  1. Because the Police are an inept bunch of useless idiots these days Bill. They couldn’t solve a crime if it happen on live TV. They are more worried about their pensions and nailing motorists. Their latest tactic is to spread scare stories about what will happen when the government funding gets cut and try to bully the public into thinking that we really need all those PCSO’s and god knows how many police cars parked up in Arpley streets car park
