Town march on in F.A Cup

WARRINGTON Town came from behind to win 1-3 at South Yorkshire based Parkgate FC to march into the 2nd qualifying round of the F.A. Cup.
Playing a team just one league level lower was always going to be a potential banana skin but Town eventually managed to show their superior class and skill to overcome a tricky obstacle.
In a closely contested first half Parkgate created most of the chances and were eventually rewarded on the stroke of half-time when William Senior rifled the ball home.
Playing on a tight compact pitch Warrington changed their tactics in the second half and were duely rewarded when ace marksman Chris Gahgan blasted the ball home in the 66th minute.
Three minutes later Warrington were in front when Louis Corrigan fired home to settle the Town nerves.
From that moment on the result was never really in doubt and Warrington made sure in the final minutes with a Corrigan penalty after one of the Parkgate defenders handled Garreth Farrelly’s goal bound header off the line.
Warrington return to league action at Cantilever Park on Tuesday evening when they entertain local rivals Leigh, who also triumphed in the F.A Cup winning 4-3 at Rossendale with a last gasp winner six minutes into injury time, despite having two players sent off.
