Wise monkeys with a message

OVER the next few weeks, three wise monkeys are touring Warrington with a special message for residents.
“Won’t hear you, won’t see you, won’t speak for you” – that is the warning to people who do not register to vote.
An ad-van displaying the three monkeys is touring the town to spread the message.
Alison Hughes, electoral services manager at Warrington Borough Council, said: “Now that delivery of the canvass has taken place we want people to be aware how important it is that they don’t put off returning it.
“People who are not on the register of electors could find their credit rating is affected, meaning they may be unable to get a bank account, a mortgage, or even a mobile phone contract. Vitally though, if you’re not registered, you can’t vote, and your voice will not be heard.”
The council is making it as easy as possible to register. If there are no changes required, residents can register by following the instructions on the top right hand side of the form that has been sent to every home, or call the 24 hour freephone telephone service 0800 197 5778, or text 80212.
It is also possible to register online at www.registerbyinternet.com/warrington.
