Fire crews called out to tackle fires in the open at Great Sankey and Westbrook

FIREFIGHTERS were called out following reports of fires in the open involving a bin well alight at Great Sankey and a wooded area at Westbrook, Warrington.

At 18.30 yesterday, one crew from Penketh was called following reports of a fire in the open in Hood Lane North.



On arrival the crew found a small bin well alight.
A water back pack was used to extinguish the flames.
Earlier in the day at 16.41 a crew from Penketh was also called to Volans Drive, Westbrook, following reports of a fire in the open
Firefighters used water to extinguish a small fire in wooded area.
