Spreading colour – with flowers

STOCKTON Heath Parish Council is investigating ways of spreading colour across the village centre – with flowers.
There are already 15 planters – five on each side of London Road, three in Victoria Square and two in Walton Road.
One idea to be considered is “spreading out” the existing planters to cover a wider area.
But this may prove difficult as the planters may be bolted down and there are only a limited number of places where they could be sited and still leave the required 1.2 metre width of footway.
Coun Sheila Dean has suggested as an alternative that barrier baskets on the railings surrounding Victoria Square could be provided, as in Northwich.
