A BELOW-strength Grappenhall managed to salvage a draw at home to Brooklands in the RSK Cheshire County League.

Grappers never looked like losing, but they were unable to achieve the necessary run-rate, despite Grant Hodnett’s 65, a useful 38 not out from Richard Green and 39 from Hall.

Marple also struggled with Rudd and Jonathan Fletcher picking up two wickets each, but the visitors’ number three batsman got set and hit a match winning 66 not out, including seven fours and two sixes. Marple eventually reached their target with six wickets down in the 40th over.
