House extension approved – after work had started

PLANNING chiefs at Warrington have approved proposals to extend a house – after work had started on the development.
Members of the borough council’s development management committee were told the scheme in Newlyn Gardens, Penketh involved demolishing an existing conservatory and replacing it with a single-storey rear extension.
Officers recommended the project be approved as the extension would have no unacceptable impact on the character of the house nor any surrounding property and that the amenity of surrounding residents would not be adversely impacted.

The committee was told the conservatory had been demolished and work had started on the new extension prior to the meeting.
But there had been no objections from neighbours, councillors or Penketh Parish Council.
The flat-roofed extension would be slightly larger than the previous conservatory and would be used to add a morning room to the property. It would have rear-facing bi-fold doors and west-facing side election windows.
