POLICE are hunting three armed men who broke into a house at Warrington and made off in the householder’s Audi Quattro 7 with his £5,000 Rolex watch.
The men were armed with a meat cleaver and a baseball bat.
During the raid, at a house in Old Chester Road, Walton, the victim, a 45-year-old local man, challenged the men who fled the scene in the Audi in the direction of the M56.
As a result of giving chase the victim sustained cuts and bruises when he climbed through a window.
The raid occurred shortly after 11pm last night (Sunday).
Inspector Gary McIntyre from Warrington South Neighbourhood Policing Team said “Burglaries that involve armed offenders breaking into peoples’ homes and confronting them are a rare occurrence in this area.
My officers and staff are conducting high visibility patrols in this area, and CID officers are working to gather as much evidence as possible to bring those responsible for this crime to justice. I would ask that anyone with any information in relation to this incident contact Warrington CID on 0845 458 0000″
