Kitchen fire victim receives first aid for smoke inhalation

ONE person needed first aid for smoke inhalation following a kitchen fire at Oakwood, Warrington earlier today.

Two fire crews from Lymm and Warrington were called out shortly before noon, following reports of a fire at a property on Redshanks Lane, Oakwood.



On arrival, the crew found that the fire involved the kitchen of the property.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used water to extinguish the flames.
A large fan was then used to ventilate the property.
One person suffering from smoke inhalation as a result of the kitchen fire received first aid at the scene from paramedics.
Meanwhile, in another incident, yesterday firefighters from Birchwood used a hose reel jet to extinguish a small fire on agricultural land off Winwick Lane in Warrington shortly before 4pm.
The crew was detained at the scene for around 20 minutes.
