LATCHFORD’S lead at the the top of the NWML Division One table was extended to eight points – without them taking to the field.
The team travelled to Oldham, only to be made aware upon arrival, that the hosts could not raise a team to face them, giving Albion the obligatory default victory of 24 – 0.

With title rivals Haresfinch and Dalton not in action, and Ulverston losing at home to Chorley, it allowed the visitors to increase their lead as they come to the closing stages of the campaign.
With Latchford the only side who have managed to play all their fixtures this season, they now have an enforced break as the other teams attempt to fulfil their fixtures.
Albion’s next match is scheduled for September 11, but this is likely to be rearranged due to international duties for some members of Latchford’s squad.
