Junior wardens enjoy a day out

FIVE Junior Wardens from Warrington took part in a day of activities including climbing, orienteering and kayaking.
They were invited to a North West Junior Warden Day in Bury, which also included a motivational speech from former karate world champion Geoff Thompson.
The aim was to make links between those running Junior Warden Schemes in the region and the junior wardens.
The scheme was launched in summer 2008, targeted at local children in years five and six. The aim is to engage children who normally would not participate in activities out of school.
There are also eight senior wardens, aged from their 40s to their 90s, who join their junior counterparts on trips so they can all learn from each others’ experiences. The scheme aims to educate youngsters while having fun.
