FIREFIGHTERS wearing breathing apparatus tackled a kitchen fire at a smoke-logged property at Padgate, Warrington, earlier today, Monday.

Shortly before 1.45pm two fire engines attended, one from Warrington and one from Lymm, following reports of a fire in the kitchen of a property on Vulcan Close.

On arrival the crews found the property to be smoke logged.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames.
A thermal imaging camera was also used to check for hot spots.
A large fan was then used to ventilate the area.
The gas supply was isolated to the property.
It is believed that the fire had been started accidentally. There were no injuries reported.
