COVID-19 infection rates continue downward trend although 132 new cases confirmed

COVID-19 infection rates in Warrington have continued a downward trend although 132 new cases have been reported in the latest data from Public Health England.

A total of 132 (102) new COVID-19 cases have been reported, taking the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 24,421 (24,289).



Cases in Warrington for the last seven days have remained on a downward trend, to 664 (689) – 317.1 (328.1) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period– but still above the national average of 270.5 (275) per 100,000, which continues to fall.
Meanwhile, the UK has recorded another 30,215 coronavirus cases in the latest 24-hour period.
A further 86 people have died within 28 days of a positive COVID test, taking the total to 130,086 since the start of the pandemic.
73.5% of the UK’s adult population is now fully inoculated after 165,669 people received their second dose of a coronavirus jab yesterday – taking the total to 38,874,837.
