Candles start house fire

CANDLES left burning in a bedroom started a fire at a house at Orford, Warrington early today.
The blaze was at a house in Cotswold Road at around 6am.
Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus were called to the scene and tackled the blaze with a hosereel jet after a smoke alarm had activated and alerted the occupants.
The blaze was caused by candles burning on top of a hi-fi system.
Severe damage was caused but was confined to the bedroom. No-one was hurt.
