THE police drove was used to help clamp down on off-road bikers and e-scooters being used in and around the Latchford area of Warrington.
Responding to the many calls to police, the Latchford Beat Team supported by Cheshire Police’s Off-road Bike and Drone Squad targeted Victoria Park, Black Bear, Loushers Lane and the surrounding areas looking for off-road bikers and e-scooters.
As a result two e-scooters were seized and an off-road biker was disrupted.
Footage has also been secured to identify riders.
The footage secured has resulted in a seizure of a motorbike and a summons for no insurance, driving not in accordance with a licence and public order offences.
The aim is to make Latchford hostile to crime and anti-social behaviour.

Off-road bikers are by far the bigger problem as they travel much faster and are doing serious damage to the environment. E- Scooters can certainly be a problem in the wrong hands but the government is dragging it’s heels in the area of trialling them formally. Many European already have them operating legally and now that places like Currys/PC World are selling them they need to get their finger out and sort out some legalisation. There’s huge potential for reducing pollution, especially in large town and city centres. All the noise about reducing emissions and saving the planet but no action! Fairly typical of WBC – all talk and no action.
