POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 22-year-old man received serious facial injuries following a fight involving a group of males outside a Stockton Heath restaurant on Sunday night.
The fight took place between 11pm and 11.15pm on Sunday 11 July in the middle of London Road outside the restaurant Stockyard, with lots of people in the village following the England football match.
The altercation involved a number of males and resulted in a 22-year-old man sustaining serious injuries to his face.
The victim was taken to Warrington Hospital and he is currently in a stable condition.
Enquiries have been ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the assault and officers are appealing for information to assist with their investigation.
Detective Constable Joe Davies, of Warrington CID, said: “The investigation is in its early stages and to assist with my enquiries I am appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
“There were a lot of people in the area that night watching the football match and may have seen the fight take place. Perhaps you were driving past at the time and have dash cam footage, you helped to break up the fight or you have information on who may have been involved.
“I also know a nurse stopped and kindly helped the victim go to hospital and I am really keen for her to get in touch with us too.
“Please do come forward – no matter how small you think the information might be.”
